Der weltweite Trend bei den Zulassungszahlen 2012 der kleineren Flugzeugen der allgemeinen Luftfahrt, zeigt sich auch bei den Ultraleichtflugzeugen.  Die Zulassungszahlen entsprechen zwar nicht exakt den Verkaufszahlen, geben aber einen guten Trend.

Die Zahl der registrierten 1-Mots in der Echo-Klasse stieg nur leicht um 13 Stück von 6.757 auf 6.744. Einen Zuwachs konnten die Motorsegler verbuchen, deren Registrierungszahl um 63 Stück von 3122 auf 3185 stieg. Jedoch wurden 41 Segelflugzeuge weniger gezählt; aktueller Bestand 7793. Die Vermutung liegt nahe, dass hier auf eigenstartfähige Motorsegler gewechselt wurde.

Die UL Zulassungszahlen 2012 liegen deutlich unter dem Niveau der Vorjahre. Im letzten Jahr registrierten DAeC und DULV zusammen 148 Neuzulassungen bei den Flugzeugen. Unter den Top Herstellermarken sind, wie in den letzten Jahren, die etablierten Firmen, aber auch "Newcomer", wie Airlony und Pipistrel schafften es diesmal in die Top Ten. 

First Fuel-Injected CTLSi Flying to Rave Reviews

After a grand introduction of the new fuel-injected 912 iS engine to European and American markets earlier this year, the Austrian engine company is now in full-scale production of the upgraded engine. Flight Design has been working diligently with the new powerplant and upgrades for it; now a group of 912 iS-powered CTLSi aircraft are landing in America. 

A lengthy wait is over and the proof is in the flying with Rotax and Flight Design cooperating to bring the new CTLSi to several customers here in the U.S. and throughout the world. Despite the effects of Sandy around New York City, where Flight Design USA Light-Sport Aircraft make landfall, the first of CTLSi aircraft have arrived in the Northeast U.S., Florida, the Midwest, and the West Coast. CTLSi, with the small “i” in the model name designating the fuel-injected engine, is the main attraction at present though the carbureted 912 ULS engine remains available for those preferring this well-proven engine.    

Special Limited Edition “Jubilee” Models Offered Worldwide 

The U.S. Light-Sport Aircraft sector is just eight years old and the first FAA-accepted aircraft began arriving in 2005 and Flight Design GmbH has been involved with aircraft development and manufacturing aircraft for 25 years. To mark this celebration milestone, the company is offering a special “Jubilee” series of their models with unique features and value pricing. 

This will be a global celebration of Flight Design’s 25th Anniversary. “It has been an exciting 25 years where we brought interesting new airplanes to markets around the world,” said Flight Design CEO Matthias Betsch. “For this anniversary we have a special model created expressly for our worldwide dealership partners and their customers.”

Flight Design will build the special Jubilee edition in a very limited series of 25 airplanes. The specially constructed airplanes add a personal touch, a unique equipment list, and special pricing. The Jubilee treatment can be applied to any of several models in production, including CTLSi, CTSLi (Supralight) or MCi. To insure quality and desirability, only 25 Jubilee airplane models will be manufactured.
